Hi all!! So, this past weekend has been extremely awesome for me. First of all, it's a four day weekend, which is ALWAYS nice, though there's only a day and a half left, but still, very relaxing. And also, when I woke up at around 9:30am on Saturday morning, I woke up to find a package in my living room. No more than the sixe of a shoebox, it was from Amazon.com and inside was probably one of my favorite books ever. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. So today is Sunday, and I've finished the book, and, all I'm going to say about this book/series, is that it's going to be good. I'm usually a patient person, but I can not WAIT till the next book comes out a year or so from now. But oh my gracious goodness, the next book in the Heros of Olympus series is going to be good. I personally thought the beginning of The Lost Hero was sort of slow, probably because I'm not really one for third-person books (which is why I LOOOVED the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series) but once it got to the end, oh boy, was I hooked. What I also liked, but at the same time disliked, was the way... nah, I can't spoil it. I think I'll wait a few weeks (though it tortures me to wait, haha, so much for being patient) to let my fellow Rick Riordan/Percy Jackson/Annabeth/Greek Mythology/Mythology in general fans read the book (since it officially releases in two days, or the 12th, depending on how this post will be dated...) BUT! If you're wondering how I got this book about four days earlier, I'm not so sure. My dad ordered it for me off Amazon.com, and it's not really unusual for me to get the books before their official release. I guess Amazon has them in stock already and to prevent it arriving late, they ship it out earlier. I'm sure it depends on the book and where you live, but, I think because of where I live, and how iffy it can be shipping something to here, they ship it earlier. 'Cause I get a lot of the just-released books before they're released, like "Only the Good Spy Young" and "The Heist Society" both by Ally Carter about two days before their release date.
Apart from that excitment above, what else am I loving about this wonderful four day weekend? Hmm... that, I think that's it. Haha! Oh! I cleaned my room today, which probably contributes to my positive atittude, though, by next week, when my room's a mess, I'll probably be all gloom-and-dooms. But, we'll see. ;)
OH!! Don't forget to check out Rick Riordan's blog and also the site for the Heros of Olympus! Acccording to the site, there's gonna be a webcast on the 12th at 7pm Eastern time. Which is 1pm Hawaiian-Aleutian time, and 5pm in the Pacific/Mainland-US-Western time zone. Apparently Rick Riordan is reading the first couple chapters and answering questions. Aww shoots. I'm still gonna be at school during this time... grr. Oh wells. Maybe I can politely ask my teacher (who thankfully at the time is going to be our world history teacher, and we just finished learning about the Greeks and now we're learning about the Romans... ironic, isn't it?! 'Cause in the story...) OH!! And apparently there's gonna be some kind of special announcment that we don't want to miss... oh boy, oh boy! I should stop before I ruin the book for those, if any, who read this. :P
